Nikolaos is a second-year student at Columbia Business School, where he is on the Dean’s List in recognition of academic excellence. He has been elected as the co-president of the Columbia European Society and the co-president of the Columbia Divers Association. Between his first and second year, Nik interned at Google in Mountain View.
Prior to Columbia, Nik worked as a Structural Engineer in Arup in London. His passion for environmentally friendly architecture, analytical precision, and artistic vision is evident from his project work. In 2010 he moved to Doha to supervise the construction of one of his designs, a solar-powered showcase stadium, which helped Qatar win their bid to host the 2022 World Cup. Nik received Chartered Civil Engineer status in spring of 2011; of the 1,100 candidates, he was one of 3 finalists for the “2012 James Rennie Medal Award.”
Nik holds a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Civil, Structural & Environmental Engineering from Trinity College, Cambridge University. In his free time, Nik enjoys wildlife photography, painting, cooking and is a certified coral reef research diver. He has also been involved in a variety of volunteer projects, ranging from fundraising and community work to environmental conservation initiatives.
