Joseph D. Brannock
University of Michigan | Stephen M. Ross School of Business

Joseph is a second-year student at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business with a focus on
Entrepreneurship and Finance. As a member of the Frankel Commercialization Fund he seeks out,
vets and invests in local clean technology startups. He is also active in student competitions, helping
to organize the Michigan Clean Energy Venture Challenge and winning the ACG Cup M&A Case
Competition in Detroit. In the summer between his first and second years of business school he interned
in the General Electric Renewable Energy Leadership Program.

Prior to attending Ross JD worked at MegaWatt Solar, an early-stage solar company, where he was
responsible for monitoring and improving the reliability of the company’s prototype power plants. He
was also a founding member of Syzygy Optics, a company that develops technology for astronomical
instrumentation.

JD holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of North Carolina.
